Jordi grew up on the Island of Wine aka Waiheke Island. A place known for vineyards, wineries, hen parties, weddings, and summer holidays. She would commute by ferry every day to go to kindy, primary, intermediate and high school.

Once she finished school, she was employed on the vineyard to help the business run and grow.

But it wasn’t for Jordi. She preferred indoor life, playing games and finding activities that were quieter and more relaxing. She resented the twelve hour days in hot sunshine looking after grapes. She doesn’t like wine and would spend most afternoons pretending to work and snacking on grapes instead.

As she moved more into adulthood and her great-aunt became frail, her family decided it would be a good idea for her to move to Auckland. Not wanting to cause a drama, they planted seeds and made Jordi believe it was her own idea to move to the big city.

With a spare room in her great-aunts house, it was a no-brainer to move in with her.

Jordi loves the idea of going off and doing big things but she’s full of anxiety and feels like she just hits a brick wall and can’t wrap her head around certain things.

She feels spacey a lot of the time, like there is too much going on in the world and she can’t focus on any one thing. Her thoughts race and she has to grab them and hold them for her to really focus. But they are slippery and often get away from her.

When she finds an activity that can hold her attention, she likes to stick with it.
