One too many wines back in the day with the girls. A mark of a good life.

A few too many shows on Netflix and a bag of M&M’s with each. Who’s complaining?

A decent meal here — freshly caught fish with salad and pesto. Baby potatoes and caramelised carrots.

A decent meal there — Spaghetti for a night off. Something easy after a long day.

Sitting in the office, made CEO. This butt of mine cushions me well, the perfect amount so my brain can be on fire.

Those kids running around, I made those. We like to sit and paint or draw. She tells me stories about all her friends. That smallest one, she’s scared of her, I’ll sit here and watch them play like the Mother Hen that I am.

My little boy doesn’t like to go outside, he doesn’t talk a lot. I join him on the couch even though he doesn’t see me. He has a pack of cards which he is absorbed in.

I sit and I watch, I know his favourite and his least favourite. I know which one he wants for Christmas and I know which ones he trades at school. He doesn’t even know I’m there.

My partner and I are in love, a happy romance. Not a fairy tale but on nights we get alone, we like to pull out the wine and reminisce. Talk about the glory days before our kids. What we used to do and how we used to leave the house, I miss leaving the house.

I have a body that doesn’t do what it used to. I might not be able to jump off rocks into the water or cycle down a mountain. My body is capable of so much more than it once was. More than I thought was possible.

My body created human life, it is filled with unconditional love that matches no one. My body is filled with joy and happiness, endless possibilities, encouragement and a fun-loving spirit. My body helped me achieve goals that took years to create. Hard work in life pays off.

My belly tells a story. My thighs carry me through life. My chins are there and they smile wider than the sun.

Sometimes a little weight gain can be a little fun.
