Holidays are important and when you are a full time writer - or full time anything - you need a break. Here are ten excuses to help you take the day off today.

1) Look At A Bridge Holiday - Go look at all the bridges in your area.

2) Look At Flags Day - Go look at all the flags you can find and fly your own.

3) Hug A Family Member Day - Find a family member you like and spread a little joy.

4) Get In The Garden Day - A day work is not allowed as everyone must go out into the garden.

5) Victory Day - Celebrate all your wins by going out for every meal.

6) Parents Day - Are you a parent? This day means you are not allowed to look after anyone but yourself today. Are you not a parent? Today means you must enjoy the freedom.

7) Pancake Day - Eat all the pancakes you can with all the toppings you can think of.

8) The Day Of Rest - This is one of the most important holidays. Sleep in, sleep all day and then sleep early at night.

9) Coffee Day - A day to celebrate coffee. No one is allowed to do anything except drink coffee today.

10) Writers Not Allowed To Write Day - A holiday for all writers. A sort of strike. A day where no writing is allowed.

Having an excuse to not write is an important part of being a writer, every industry gives their employees time off and writers are no different. We all need a bit of a holiday.

What's your favourite excuse to use when you don't feel like writing?
